2022年6月に、CBDを完全に禁止にする計画を発表していた香港政府。
香港では2023年2月1日からCBDは禁止となり「危険ドラッグ」に分類されることが決定し、CBDはヘロイン、コカイン、フェンタニルを含む200ほどの他の物質と同等のものとして扱われます。
CBDの罰則は、輸出入や生産の場合は、最高で終身刑と約8300万円（500万香港ドル）の罰金。所持の場合は、7年以下の懲役と約1700万円（100万香港ドル）の罰金となります。
